What is this website all about?
Growing up, many would often hear parents advise, “look both ways before you cross the street.” Why did they tell us this? We could have easily learned this lesson on our own. But to learn this lesson on our own would mean that we would have faced one of two situations:
- Have been hit by a car while crossing the street, or
- Have nearly been hit by a car while crossing the street.
Knowledge transfer, at its core, is sharing known information to an unknowing party. In this case, a parent to a child.
The above example, as basic as it is, represents the concept of knowledge transfer early in life. As we grow, the guidance of “looking both ways” can take form as scientific research establishing the leading causes of cancer, or the fundamental principles of space travel. Learning from our predecessors allows us to begin our life a step ahead of where they began. The compound effect of this information, generation after generation, improves understanding of our community and our world. It makes the seemingly impossible, in time, possible.
The goal of 3 Minutes Smarter, is to educate the world. Just as the parent advises to “look both ways,” we exist to ensure that the world is smarter with each generation that passes.
How do we educate the world?
Three Minutes Smarter is a company focused on making the world smarter. We aim to accomplish this by transferring knowledge from the world’s greatest thinkers to you, in a quick simple format. We don’t have a big team, or a large marketing budget, so we ask that you join us in our goal to make the world smarter, and share our content within your networks. One video at a time, one view at a time we can make the world three minutes smarter.
Does the world really need another website?
The average coconut weighs approximately three pounds, but only holds four ounces of milk. A quart of milk weighs approximately two pounds, one less than the coconut, but holds eight times more liquid, 32 fluid ounces. Three minutes smarter is the quart of milk.
Information multiplies with each year that passes. What once fit into an encyclopedia now takes up massive server space. We simply do not have time as a species to break open all of the “coconuts” in search of the milk. We need this information handed directly to us; packaged and condensed. 3 Minutes Smarter does this, pulling from the minds of the world’s most intelligent and synthesizing into a simple format.
So yes – we need it!
